Healthy Walks Programme
01 May 2010
The Association has joined up with North Glasgow Community Health Partnership to encourage health improvement for all age groups via a programme called 'Healthy Walks'. The Association recognised the benefits of getting involved with this initiative and has two qualified walk leaders - Anne O Hagan and Jane Mackenzie - who are pictured above with a group of sheltered tenants at the Water Works in Milngavie. As well as leading the walks other sheltered housing residents have been on walks around Glasgow's numerous parks where they can be escorted by arrangement with the Glasgow City Council park ranger service. Staff from all our sheltered housing complexes arrange these trips so if anyone wishes to improve their health through easy flat level walking please contact support staff at any complex. If you are not in the older age category but are still interested in either walking or becoming a walk leader please contact Megan Hagger on 0141 201 9707 or Ashley Pritchard on 0141 336 7000 who will be able to assist you.
