Shared Equity

Shared Equity is a Scottish Government scheme whereby grants are given to Housing Associations to subsidise the cost of you buying a home. So if you can only afford a mortgage of between 60% -80% of the purchase price, the Association will meet the balance of costs (20%-40%). You will still own the whole property and be able to increase your share over time if you want.
